A scanner fed pages in sideways, or a phone app saved a landscape document as portrait. Rotating the PDF fixes the viewing direction.
Using the tool
- Choose a PDF, up to 50 MB, in the Rotate PDF tool.
- Pick an angle: 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise.
- Download the rotated file.
The rotation applies to every page, and it is added to any rotation a page already has. A page that was set to 90 degrees and rotated by 90 more ends at 180.
Choosing the angle
- 90 degrees: the top of the page turns to the right.
- 180 degrees: upside down.
- 270 degrees: the top of the page turns to the left, the same as 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
If the document is on its side with the top to the left, use 90; if the top is to the right, use 270.
Limits
- It rotates all pages together. For a mix of orientations, extract the affected pages with extract pages, rotate them, and merge again.
- Rotation sets the page’s display direction and does not change the content.
- Password-protected files cannot be processed.
Frequently asked questions
Will text stay searchable?
Yes. Rotation changes only the page orientation, so text and selection still work.
