Convert an IPv4 address between dotted decimal, binary, hexadecimal, and 32-bit decimal — instantly, in your browser.
Convert an IPv4 address to binary, hexadecimal and a single 32-bit decimal number. It runs in your browser.
How to use it
- Enter an IPv4 address such as 192.168.1.1.
- Read the binary, hexadecimal and 32-bit decimal forms.
Example
192.168.1.1 is 11000000.10101000.00000001.00000001 in binary, C0.A8.01.01 in hexadecimal and 3,232,235,777 as one number (192 × 256³ + 168 × 256² + 1 × 256 + 1).
Good to know
Each of the four parts is one byte, so it must be from 0 to 255; 192.168.1.256 is rejected. The tool handles IPv4 only, not IPv6. Binary shows how a subnet mask lines up with an address, and some databases store addresses as a single number so range queries are simple. 192.168.x.x is a private range used inside home and office networks.
