How to use it

  1. Choose an image (up to 25 MB).
  2. Pick a width: 320, 640, 800, 1,024, 1,600 or 1,920 pixels.
  3. Keep “keep aspect ratio” ticked so the height is worked out for you.
  4. Download the result.

Example

A 1,920 × 1,080 photo resized to 800 wide becomes 800 × 450. Choosing 0 keeps the original width.

Good to know

Untick the aspect ratio only if you really want the shape to change, because it distorts the picture; to get a different shape without stretching, crop instead. Shrinking discards pixels and cuts the file size sharply. Enlarging stretches existing pixels and cannot add detail, so enlarged photos look soft. For the web, choose about the width the image is displayed at, or up to twice that for sharp screens. The widths are fixed options, so for other sizes resize to the nearest and crop. Re-saving also removes EXIF data.

See the guide and aspect ratio.

FAQs

Will it compress the file too?

Mostly through fewer pixels. For more savings use the Image Compressor.
