How to use it
- Enter the numerator and denominator of each fraction.
- Choose add, subtract, multiply or divide.
- Read the result, for example “3/4 + 2/3 = 17/12 (1.416667)”.
Examples
- 5/6 − 1/4 = 7/12
- 2/3 × 3/5 = 2/5
- 3/4 ÷ 2/3 = 9/8
Good to know
A denominator cannot be zero, and the answer is always reduced to lowest terms. Negative fractions work with the minus sign on the numerator. The tool takes whole numbers for each part, so turn a mixed number like 1 1/2 into 3/2 first. For the method behind each operation, see the fractions guide.
