Convert a flat array of JSON objects to CSV, or CSV back to JSON. It runs in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Choose JSON to CSV, or CSV to JSON.
  2. Paste your data.
  3. Copy or download the result.

Examples

The JSON [{"name":"Ann","age":30},{"name":"Bo, Jr.","age":25}] becomes

name,age
Ann,30
"Bo, Jr.",25

The value with a comma is quoted so it stays in one cell. Going the other way, “name, age / Ann,30 / Bo,25” becomes two objects, with the ages as text ("30"), because CSV has no types.

Good to know

Only flat arrays of objects are supported: nested objects and arrays are rejected with a message, since a table cannot hold them. The converter uses commas, and an empty CSV is an error. Spreadsheets sometimes open CSV with the wrong encoding or reformat long numbers, so use the import dialog with UTF-8 and check IDs afterwards.

FAQs

How do I handle nested data?

Flatten it first, for example turn address.city into its own field.

Does it support semicolon-separated files?

No, only commas. Replace the semicolons first, taking care with values that contain commas.
