Open Graph / Twitter Card Generator
Generate the Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags for a page, ready to paste into your <head> — instantly, in your browser.
Generate Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags for the title, description and image shown when your page is shared. It runs in your browser.
How to use it
- Enter a title (required), and optionally a description, image URL, page URL and site name.
- Choose the Twitter card type: a large image or a small summary.
- Copy the tags into your page’s
<head>.
Example
A title “My Page”, a description and an image produce og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:site_name, og:type (website) and twitter:card tags, plus the matching Twitter title, description and image tags.
Good to know
Use a full web address for the image, not a relative path. For the large card an image of about 1200 × 630 pixels works well, and key content should sit away from the edges because platforms crop differently. Networks cache previews, so a changed tag may need a refresh in their sharing debugger. Many WordPress SEO plugins add these tags already, so check before duplicating them. They change how a shared link looks, not how the page ranks.
See the guide and the Open Graph entry.
FAQs
Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter tags?
Twitter can fall back to Open Graph, but the card type tag tells it which layout to use.
