Discount / Sale Price Calculator
Calculate the final price and total savings for any percentage discount — instantly, in your browser.
Work out the sale price and how much you save from an original price and a percentage discount. It runs in your browser.
How to use it
- Enter the original price.
- Enter the discount percentage.
- Read the final price and the saving.
Formula and example
Sale price = original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). A $120 jacket at 35% off costs 120 × 0.65 = $78.00, and you save $42.00.
Good to know
- Stacked discounts are not added. 20% off then an extra 10% off is 28% off, not 30%: 100 × 0.80 × 0.90 = 72. Run the first discount, then enter the result as the new price for the second.
- Working backwards: a sale price of $78 after 35% off started at 78 ÷ 0.65 = $120, not 78 plus 35%.
- “30% off” and “$30 off” are only equal at $100.
Tax, shipping and fees are usually added after the discount and vary by place. This is price arithmetic, not financial advice. See the guide.
FAQs
How do I find the discount percentage from two prices?
Divide the saving by the original price. $120 down to $78 saves $42, and 42 ÷ 120 = 35%.
